Class Evaluation

1.  Things that I like about this class: First and foremost, My favorite teacher Mr. Haymore. I liked starting out my mornings with him on even block schedule. I liked the assignments he gave us like computer science innovations posts, the Arete posts, and working with partners on the lesson worksheets.

2. Things I did not like about this class: Where I was seated for most of the semester, and I hated doing presentations. I don't like talking in front of huge groups of people, because I get nervous, flustered, and I start stuttering. I was okay with the small group presentation for the flash talk project, I felt comfortable doing that. I just don't feel comfortable talking in front of the whole class, hopefully that will change next semester. I don't mind presenting just in front of Mr. Haymore because I can do that with confidence but I can't do it with the whole class. I also hate the drafting method I get so much anxiety.

3. Recommendations for improving class: Besides less presentations, none. I would enjoy writing in our life planning journals in class again please. And I would also like for us to have ctr card checks more often. Study guides for our assessments would be helpful. Everything else is just perfect.

4. Highlight for me in this class: Just listening to Mr. Haymore explain the lesson to us. Another highlight was that the class may have started out as challenging but as time went by I became more into it and it got easier so I'm glad.
5. I think I almost did my best in this class. I could have studied more for my assessments and completed some assignments that I missed out on. Next semester I will put my all into it.
6. To qualify for college credit I will study diligently for the test that we will be submitting to the college board at the end of the year.
7. Of course I am reading my life planning goals for at least five minutes daily. I have missed out on reporting but I'll have to get back on that. I always add a victory each time I accomplish a goal. I really want to write at least 200 goals by the end of the next semester.
8. I am so committed to being a CTR person. I am working hard to keep my grades up, I am hoping to get better at being nicer to the people that surround me, I am hoping to clean out my circle of friends and be involved with people that are only willing to choose the right, and lastly I am determined to stay away from the boys who don't benefit me and will lead me to choose the wrong because I know I don't deserve that.

Internet Innovations
"The internet changes the world"
E-commerce
Electronic commerce is how we buy things online.
The launch of amazon and ebay was in 1995. The two sites would come to define the web in the 1990's and continue to be leading sellers of goods online. Because of electronic commerce, whatever you can buy in a store, you can buy online. This impacts tons of different people in many ways. For example if you're too lazy to go all the way to the nearest best buy you can just order something online. Problems that this innovation solves everyday is that now with just a few clicks, we can not only find the best prices for travel, but also book our flight, hotel room, or renter car without any complications. I really like this innovation because when I am in need of items e-commerce has made life so much easier.

Augmented-Reality Helmet Could Give Cyclists Extra Eyes on the Road

This helmet gives cyclists a 360 degree view of the road. Cars have a rear view mirror, and now cyclists will be able to ride a bike and they can have the same feature that the car has but instead with the helmet. In addition, the helmet has a GPS navigator.
This helmet can impact anyone, even people who don't ride bikes.
This innovation will solve the problems that cyclists face on the road. It will help prevent accidents.

Ben Carson
Ben is a neurosurgeon and politician. He worked in John Hopkins Hospital. He performed over 400 surgeries a year.
He graduated from Yale University and then went on to the University of Michigan Medical School.
Obviously technology impacted his experience since Medical School is not just something you go through hands on, it comes with many technological resources.
I think what is incredible about this man is his education specifically as a Surgeon. I would say I don't like his homophobic opinions.

Automated screening for childhood communication disorders
This computer system could help identify subtle speech, language disorders in time for early intervention. The system analyzes audio recordings of children’s performances on a standardized storytelling test, in which they are presented with a series of images and an accompanying narrative, and then asked to retell the story in their own words.
This will obviously impact children with speech disabilities.
I really like that this innovation was created, it is nice that now children might be saved from these disabilities.
A new computer system can automatically screen young children for speech and language disorders and, potentially, even provide specific diagnoses.

Send Passwords Securely Through Your Body Instead of Wi-Fi

So instead if relying on blue tooth signals, researchers have developed a system that uses the human body to securely transmit passwords. They have found a way to send the signal from a fingerprint scanner or touch pad through the body to a receiving device that is also in contact with the user. Since they are on-body transmissions they offer a more secure option than passwords.
This will impact anyone who is very insecure about their business being invaded by others.
It will solve security and distance problems.
I think this innovation is cool and would like to try it myself.

EQ-Radio
The EQ-radio is a device that detects a person's emotions using wireless signals by measuring subtle changes in breathing and heart rhythms, EQ-Radio is 87 percent accurate at detecting if a person is excited, happy, angry or sad.
This could impact anyone for now we would know how a person really feels without us having to ask.
Possible problems that it could solve is figuring out if a person has anxiety, or depression, or post traumatic disorder.
I like this innovation and would like to try it on my self to see if it really works and to try it on my friends.

Mikaele Oloa
1) He became the World Fire Knife Dance Champion in 2005-2006. He is the youngest competitor to have won the title.

2) He began training with his father at the age of five.

3) I think technology could have impacted this in the way that instead of knives being on fire they could be like glow sticks but then it honestly wouldn't be as cool.

4)  Image result for Mikaele Oloa

5) I think the life lessons we can learn from this is taking risks to achieve something great are definitely worth it.

Perfect Memory Camera

This is a wearable camera that allows you to capture moments that you might have missed. It is a 12 mega-pixel device that's pocket size and light-weight. With a tap of its touch screen, it can record video, audio, and is capable of full-high definition 1080p video.
This can impact anyone whether they have an interesting life or not.
Problems it may solve could be like something really exciting, or important could happen for instance and you probably wanted to save and cherish that moment and with the perfect memory camera you won't miss a thing. Also in case you were the victim of a crime now you have all the evidence on one camera.
I really like this innovation and would like to have it for myself because there are so many moments in my life that I wish I could rewind.

Alex Hattori

1) By the age of 15 years old, Alex Hattori is crowned the top double yo-yo player in the nation, has his own sponsor, his own trading cards, and his own line of yo-yo's.

2) He started playing with yo-yo's at the age of 11 in middle school. By the time he was 12, his skills earned him the title of America's junior national yo-yo champion.

3) I think technology impacted this excellence because of the creation of a yo-yo.

4) Image result for Alex Hattori 2016

5) I feel this this excellence must have taken so much practice, more of his time was consumed perfecting his skills at the yo-yo than anything. I could never ever do this. It probably took energy and patience and I lack both of those.

Magic Picture Frame

A. An invention called the "slow dance" frame opens a window into what it might look like to see things in slow motion in the real world. When you put something in the frame, the movement of the object appears to happen at a fraction of their normal speed.

B. This will impact anyone who is fascinated by slow motion someone who actually cares about the rate that things move.

C. I don't think this innovation will solve any problems except for if anyone wants to see the slow movement an object really bad because it might move too fast for your eyes to see like i wish i could rewind life all the time.

D. I think this innovation is cool because I have always wanted to see a cinnamon roll being unrolled in slow motion that would really satisfy me.

                     Carl & Margaret Karcher

Carl and Margaret started their own restaurant business that sold hot dogs and tamales. They later founded Carl's Jr. Their restaurant quickly grew and they opened several more restaurants numbering 100 by 1974, 300 by 1981.

I think technology could have impacted this because what if there was a machine created to get the burgers done faster.

I think I'm grateful for this excellence because I love the spicy chicken burgers from Carl's Jr. The lesson of life that I learned from this example is that one can always turn something small into something bigger if you work hard to expand it.

"Computing enables innovation in nearly every field"
Liquid Crystal Display

This is the technology used for displays in notebooks and smaller computers, it is made of liquid crystals activated by electrical current.

This innovation will impact everyone that utilizes it because it is a flat panel display that uses LCD which is a screen that's more energy-efficient and it is flat enough to hang on a wall.

Problems that I think this innovation would solve would be the weight since it is light it will be much easier to carry around.
I think this innovation is cool.

Mia Hamm
1) She is a two time Olympic gold medalist and FIFA Women's world cup winner

2) In high school when she was a freshman and sophomore she played soccer. She attended the university of North Carolina and helped win 4 women's championships. She graduated from college with the ACC records for goals with 103, assists with 72, and total points with 278.

3) I think technology impacted this experience because she was born with a club foot and her corrective shoes she wore as a toddler helped her improve.

4) Image result for Mia Hamm

5) I think the lesson of life that I learned from this example is that you can still achieve great things no matter what difficulties are thrown at you since birth

Luke Aikins

1) Luke Aikins set the record for the highest jump in skydiving history by jumping from 25,000 feet.

2) He has completed more than 18,000 jumps since he started skydiving at the age of 12.

3) I think technology impacted his experience because he jumped from an aircraft that could have only been made with technology.

4) Image result for Luke Aikins

5) I think that this excellence that was achieved would be the goal that everyone has so he was very fortunate to have been the first to do it. I think the most important lesson that I have learned from this example is that you can aim this big if you're determined and don't allow yourself to be controlled by your fears or anyone's words. If you do something 18,000 times you're going to be very good at it.

                           Marvin Goldstein
1. Marvin Goldstein has been making music for over 50 years. He completed his education with Bachelor and Master of music degrees at Florida state university. Marvin has recorded 40 compact discs, released a grammy CD with Billy Dean, and has arranged 15 piano solo music books.

2. Marvin began musical training at the age of 9 and by 18 he was given a music scholarship to Tell Aviv University School of music.

3. I think technology might have impacted this arete experience because without the use of technology we wouldn't have good quality music.

4.

5. I think that with the dedication and hard work he put into achieving his music dream, excellence was also achieved.

Social Networking

A. Social networking is an online service, platform, or site that mainly focuses on the building of social networks or social relations among people who might either be family members or different people across the world who share the same interests.
B. This innovation will impact millions of people from any part of the world. The variety of the people that use social media are teens, but that is a stereotype because you would be amazed by how many adults and elders are on social media.
C. The problem that this innovation will solve is making it much easier for relatives and friends to communicate via the internet.
D. This is my absolute favorite computer science innovation because it has helped me so much through out the years. I have found people on the internet who think like me, like the same things I do, and made me feel less alone. I think social networking is the best way for anyone to feel connected to someone else.

How Stuff Works

Reflection
1. Things that I liked about this class was obviously my favorite teacher Mr. Haymore, sitting next to Emely Romero every other day, and the stuff that we worked on.

2. Things that I did not like about the class was when we had the spinning wheel and I was always nervous it would land on me because I hate talking in front of people.

3. Recommendations for improving class is a daily ctr card check.

4. The highlights for me about this class were reading my life planning book, writing on my journal, and Emely making me laugh super hard.

5. Explain: I think I did my absolute best in this class because I really took my time thinking what to write and reflecting on my posts.

6. Of Course I read my life planning goals for five minutes daily every day and I am constantly ruling out victories and writing more goals each day.

7. I am so committed to being a CTR person because I am working on bettering my habits every minute and second of the day in my life. I'm trying to stay away from those ctw boys.

8. I learned how to code in order to create a website.

9. I will always remember Mr. Haymore forever.

The 12 principles of highly successful leaders
1. Be true to character
This means to basically stay true to yourself. It is important to have a good character because you feel great. You have positive traits and that makes other people change their attitude towards you.

2. Use your imagination
Imaginative people are the best kind of people. I feel that when you have a very wide imagination, you have the potential to create big things. I think I have plenty imagination when I hear a song and I already know what the music video should look like so I have all these ideas in my head, the setting, the scene, but sadly when the actual music video comes out it is completely different. That's why I want to be a music video director so I can finally put my ideas into action.

4. Never Give up
This statement keeps me going and may be the only one. And I mean this in the long run because goals that I have and am going to accomplish are for when I get older. But currently sometimes I just want to give up on everything and mostly everyone around me. These things though aren't at all as important as the things I am willing to not give up on in the future. These tasks and these irrelevant people will not matter to me in 10 years so I don't put my focus on them at the moment.

Find Peace and Balance
Finding peace and balance is mainly about being at your happiest point. I think that to find your peace and balance you need to get away from the things that make you feel not at ease because then you don't have any kind of peace so if anyone wants to find peace and balance at all they should do the things that bring them joy.

Live the Golden Rule
The golden rule is to treat others the way you want to be treated. And that's important to me because I've been bullied almost my entire life. It has always been hard for me to understand why people are so cruel for no reason. I'd understand if I had given them a reason to be cruel to me but for them to treat me the way they did just because of my appearance and because I was different from the rest. They probably still don't even know all the pain that they caused me and how many times I cried because I didn't understand why they didn't like me. Now that I'm older I don't care what anyone thinks because if anything I will think worse of them. I don't have to feel bad for not being perfect and I don't take crap from anyone. I've learned to stand up for myself since deciding I wouldn't let anyone bring me down again. It is also the reason why I treat others the way I want to be treated because I know how much it hurts to be the victim.

Build and maintain trust
To build and maintain trust means to become trustworthy and relied on to maintain secrets. It's very hard to trust people lately. There's only one person I could actually trust aside from everyone else. There's a girl that I decided to trust about cherrio and this dumb girl told cherrio that we call her cherrio. I thought that we could trust each other but apparently I was wrong about her. Well whatever she's ugly and she don't have friends. And that taught me a lesson to be really careful about who I trust.

Quick to listen slow to wrath
No I don't think I am slow to wrath because anything can get me annoyed easily. I should totally work on that though because that might be one reason why some people don't like me and I get it but they should at least try to not get on my last nerve and stop being so annoying because I will speak out I don't care who it is.

Lead with Vision
I think leading with vision means to be determined to follow up on your dreams and to always have that vision in your head of becoming what you want and do what you have always imagined yourself doing in the future. I decided what I wanted to be doing with my life when I was 12 and I still continue to keep the same vision in my head and I hope that's exactly how it stays in the next 5 years and maybe by then of my dreams will already have come true I will keep working hard to pursue my goals.

Manage with a plan

To manage with a plan means to have an idea of what you as an individual want to do, whether it's a long term plan or a short term plan. I think I always manage with a plan like Dj Khaled always has a plan. He says to never let them tell you that you can't win. ALL I DO IS WIN WIN WIN NO MATTER WHAT GOT MONEY ON MY MIND AND I NEVER GIVING UP.

Do what Matter the Most
Always. There's very few things that matter to me so of course I make the most of them when I can. Some examples are: Eating food, showering, looking good, keeping up to date with my idols on social media and educating myself on what's gonna benefit me in the future. A lot of the things that I'm expected to do are not even close to being beneficial to me later on like math. I hate math so much and I don't think I will need to know how to do Algebra 2 or Geometry so I try to focus on more important things than that. I used to also focus on stupid boys but with all my bad experiences that I've had I have learned that it is better to stay away from immature little boys and that there are much more important things to do than to pay them even a little bit of attention I'll just wait until an actual man comes into my life.

Be accountable
I can be accountable when I need to be. Whether it's for a group project, or a friend thing, I can definitely be expected to be responsible, to explain, and to answer anything that is supposed to be. An example could be when I am relied on to be a witness of an event that person can count on me and I will for sure be there to talk to anyone who may need an explanation.

10 Tips for being more Truthful

1. Make a commitment to tell the truth
2. Tell someone about your commitment.

I would have to make a commitment to myself to tell the truth at all times but I would fail because I'm even dishonest to myself how can I be truthful with others. I would tell my closest friends about my commitment but they know I would cave too.

3. Think before you give a dishonest answer, explanation, sarcasm, or reason.

I agree that people should really think about what they say before they give an answer. Especially sarcasm, because for example I could never tell when someone is being serious or if they're just being stupid and sarcastic.

4. Be careful of when and how you use exaggeration, sarcasm, or irony.

This is important because exaggeration, sarcasm, or irony can be taken the wrong way or offensively, which is why it is better to be truthful than to try and be funny sometimes. For example the other day at the fair we were at this restaurant and my friend Johnny's brother went to go say hi to my friend Sarai and she was like "I don't know you" in a very angry tone. He looked hurt and honestly I believed she was being serious but then she laughed and said she was just kidding so I never know when she's joking or not.

5. Be careful not to twist the truth or leave out part of it.

Well as much as I think this should completely be taken into consideration sometimes leaving out the truth is better for me. For example I don't like the feeling of having to tell a friend something that might hurt her I would rather her find out on her own or by someone else besides me. Or me on the other hand, sometimes I prefer lies than to hear the truth because it could leave me heartbroken.

7. Watch out for silent lies
I'm not sure I know what silent lies are. I think it's also kind of like how someone may be telling you something and they're leaving out the silent lies I feel like that's what it may be.

8. When you catch yourself lying, throw your mouth into reverse.
I wouldn't do a very good job at this tip because If i catch myself lying it's most likely I can't correct myself. For example if someone hurts my feelings and someone else asks if I'm okay I would lie and say I'm fine and that I don't care but in reality I'm just trying to hide my emotions because I don't want anyone to know that I care what people think or say about me and that deep down I feel hurt and I'm trying my hardest not to let the tears fall. That's why it is better for me to pretend like it doesn't bother me if someone puts me down which I've had to do pretty much my whole life so I've gotten used to it and much better at hiding it.

Treat yourself when you tell the truth
I'm always treating myself no matter what even when I am just telling the truth. I think rewarding yourself afterward is important so that in encourages you to tell the truth more often.

Reflection
My final thoughts on the ten tips for being more truthful is that these are all very useful tips to get better at telling the truth. They can benefit us all in many different ways to just mainly improve our honesty skills. A tip that I will be applying now is to think before I can give an honest answer and it is making a difference in my life because now I don't have to worry about whether what I said was right or wrong because I actually thought about it. I will totally incorporate the other tips into my life planning goals and plans with my personal life.

                     How the Internet Works

A few things that I remember learning from the videos that stood out to me were how many megabytes there are in a single song. There are also millions of IP addresses and there's a whole process to how IP addresses are made, and that people can steal them and hack into the websites with the URL's. I also saw how the data we receive is delivered from our phones to computers and other devices. I saw how people keep their websites secure, so how to prevent viruses because hackers can take over millions of computers worldwide.

                   10 Keys to Personal Power

Key 1: Clarity
"Have vision. Determine what you want to be, do or have in life. Have a sense of direction and know where you're going. If you do not have clear specific goals in life, you are doomed forever to work for others who do."

Key 2: Competence
"If you commit to excellence, opportunities will always come your way. The harder you work, the better you get."
I think it is true, if you really want to succeed at something you have to really be determined and if you really want it, you must definitely work hard at it so you get better until you master it.

Key 3: Concentration
"Make the best use of your time. Ask yourself "Is this the best use of my time?" before you start anything."
I think to be actually concentrated you do need to make sure you're giving the right time to the most important things before the least important things for example pay more attention to your school work rather than your rat.

Key 4: Common Sense

Key 5: Creativity
"Except the fact that very human being is a genius. The hallmark of creativity is asking questions. The people who are most creative ask the most questions."
I think creativity is a major key. If someone is not creative, they may not have an idea of how to do most things, which is why I think that creative people are really smart. Creative people think more than people who are not. I find creativity really attractive in a person, and if a person is not then I have no interest in talking to them. Usually uncreative people are the ones who don't know what to make out of their lives so they turn to drugs and that's not choosing the right.

Key 6: Consideration
"The quality of your relationships with other people will determine your success in life."

"Develop the people skills you need to become a better communicator. Take courses in listening, speaking, etc."

"If you were to learn one new word a day, within 5 years, you'll be the best educated person in history."

Consideration is a really important trait that I look for in a friend. Most of the people I hang out with are considerate, I try to stay away from rats.

Key 7: Consistency
"Dependable, steady predictable work is always superior to fast spurts of work."

"Be consistent in your relationships, your family, friends, your boss, your work. Be the person that people can depend upon. That if you say you'll do something you do it..."

Of course I think consistency is really important in many cases. Whether it is a relationship with a significant other, a friend, or a family member, or at a job interview. I think it is just like making a commitment or a promise, it is something you're expected to keep. In my opinion, immature stupid teenage boys seem to have a problem with consistency. For example, some girls with their stupid rat boyfriends have problems in their relationship because dumb boys don't know how to handle arguments. In another scenario, boys are either dumb or just clueless and don't know how to handle a girl's feelings and because of their lack of consistency, they end up breaking their hearts and leaving them wondering what could have been if the guy was actually different and not like everyone else.

Key 8: Commitment
"No success is possible without commitment. The ability to commit yourself whole heartily is the basis of achieving all success."
"Become totally absorbed in your work. Be totally committed."

Commitment is a major key. I stay committed to many things in my life, like my friends, my work, my idols. I've been supporting Miley Cyrus since I was 7 and now I'm 16, I've been there through the Disney phase all the way up to now. If that's not commitment then I don't know what is. I am very committed to keeping my friends' secrets which is why I think so many of them trust me with their stuff. I'm also committed to my goals because I have not given up on my future dreams and goals since 5 years and that's a really long time.

Key 9: Courage
"The fear of failure is the single greatest reason for failure in life."

Courage is a key that everyone wishes that they'd have under control. I wish I was courageous for sure as much as I wish other people also were. If only I could build up some courage on my own then I'd be able to do the things I imagine myself doing in my head and I would do those things in real life. It is such a struggle to be scared the way I am because being scared doesn't allow me to get what I want. I think if I were confident enough to say and do the things I imagine I would probably get it my way.

Key 10: Confidence
"You only get confidence by doing things over and over again."

When people say they think confidence is attractive, that breaks my heart because that's something I don't have. All the time I wish I did have confidence, it would be very helpful in everything I do. Sadly no matter how much I try, I can't be confident because I'm ugly and I feel that I have no right to feel confidence.

Reflection:
Well these 10 keys are all major keys to success. Each one benefits us in several different ways. I think the key I'm trying to apply to now is Key#9 which is courage. I think the reason it hasn't made a difference is because I'm actually not trying. I hope to incorporate the rest of the keys into my life planning by building up a bit of each key inside myself.
